Friendship Day

Did you know that the first Sunday in August is Friendship Day? It was declared so by the United States Congress in 1935.

So, Friendship Day is coming up this Sunday. What will you do to observe the day? It might be a great time to call an old friend you haven’t talked with in a long time. Or you could send an e-mail to all those you consider friends and tell them how special they are. Don’t forward one of the ready-made e-mails with hearts and roses and angels. Just a few sincere words to say, “I’m glad you’re in my life” is so much better.

Whether you honor them today or Sunday or on any other day, do cherish those friends!
They are more precious than gold! Those wonderful people reflect on who you are. Shakespeare said it best of course: “We are advertised by our loving friends.”
